COVID-19 Community Support Package
The first round of the COVID-19 Community Support Package has now closed. However, the portal for grant acquittals remains open and can be found below. If you need assistance with your acquittal process please contact Council as soon as possible.
The package outcomes
It was an extremely successful program which injected over $330,000 into our community. During the thick of the pandemic, many businesses and sporting clubs felt the pinch and saw a decline in trade. Through the package, Council was able to boost businesses with a grant of up to $5,000 and effectively wipe away utility bills for sporting clubs and community groups for a period of six months.
Additionally, those business and individuals experiencing severe hardship were entitled to a complete remission of their fourth quarter rates (with no deferral of payment).
The package outcomes at a glance:
- 40 local businesses secured grants to the value of $191,280.70
- 33 community groups and sporting clubs received utility payments support worth a total of $112,214.57
- 42 fourth quarter rate remissions were provided to a number of ratepayers, totalling $22,896.00
Rate support options now
Until a further round is decided, Council has its usual measures in place to provide immediate and on-going support for those experiencing financial hardship.
We offer a tailored payment plan and can waive late fees and charges for those who are significantly impacted. Read more about our payment plans and support for rate payers here.
Successful Applicants - business grant acquittal
Please note that a Business Support Grant Acquittal is to be completed after the grant funding is spent. Council expects this to be completed within three weeks after expending the grant, but before the deadline of October 30 2020. The acquittal is used to prove all expenditures from the grant are inline with its guidelines and conditions. FOR BUSINESSES ONLY!
