Hamley Bridge Sporting Precinct

Project overview

Our Wakefield 2030 Community Plan aims to promote active and healthy lifestyles through the provision of quality sport and recreation facilities.

Hamley Bridge Community & Sports precinct is the main sporting area in the town and plays host to a number of sports – including Australian Rules Football, tennis and netball – as well as community activities and an RV park.

The renewal and upgrade of the Hamley Bridge Sports Precinct is a priority action of Wakefield 2030 and Council has engaged 180 Sports & Leisure to develop a master plan for the site that aims to adopt a staged approach to its redevelopment. Considerations are relocation of the existing club room from the eastern side to the western side of the ground and establishing a new smaller facility (toilets, showers, club area) that will support court sport activities, along with improving the oval, courts, general access and car parking.

We thank everyone who has provided feedback on this project and we look forward to updating you further in the near future.
