Deputy Mayor Agnew departs Wakefield

Published 16th April 2024

Deputy Mayor Denni Agnew has tendered her immediate resignation from Wakefield Regional Council and will no longer serve on Council as of Tuesday, April 16, 2024.

Mrs Agnew was elected to Council during the 2018 election as a Councillor for the North Ward and at the last election in 2022 was re-elected and voted Deputy Mayor.

Mayor Rodney Reid said Mrs Agnew has been an integral part of Council whilst serving and made an excellent Deputy Mayor throughout her tenure.

“Mrs Agnew has been a great voice for the northern regions of our Council district, supporting these townships and ensuring their issues are heard in the Council chamber,” Mayor Reid said.

“Continually Mrs Agnew has encouraged a greener and sustainable Wakefield and throughout her time on Council has been an advocate for encouraging more women and youth to be involved in Local Government.

“We thank Mrs Agnew for her time serving the Wakefield Region and wish her all the best for her future,” Mayor Reid said.
