Feedback sought for Draft Nantawarra Reserve Biodiversity Management Plan
Community consultation has now closed
Council has developed a Draft Nantawarra Reserve Biodiversity Plan thanks to grant funding from the Northern and Yorke Landscape Board’s Grassroots Grants and is now seeking feedback on the Draft Plan to help guide management of the 24-hectare plot of land at Nantawarra.
Extensive research and onsite visits to create the plan has assessed the biodiversity value of the site to recommend appropriate conservation measures to maintain the site.
Mayor Rodney Reid said implementing recommendations outlined within the plan will help maintain this land which is rich in biodiversity.
“The land is largely untouched, showing original native scrubland whilst also housing some exciting flora and fauna, if you have an interest within the site Council would welcome your feedback on the draft plan,” Mayor Reid said.
“If you use any of the facilities located within the reserve, I encourage you to read the draft plan to see how Council could potentially manage the site and what works could be undertaken,” Mayor Reid said.
Feedback for the plan will close on Friday, October 3 at 5.00pm, you can download and read the full plan online at wrc.sa.gov.au or request a copy from the Balaklava Council offices.
