Pigeon controls for Balaklava Town Hall
Published 7th April 2022
Wakefield Regional Council is taking measures to control pigeons which are causing a local nuisance, health risk and damage to the Balaklava Town Hall.
Council has engaged Selective Pest Control to install bird-proof mesh to the town hall roof and then to undertake a controlled shooting between 11-22 April. These dates are tentative due to factors such as weather and population density at the time.
The moves follow advice from the Balaklava Town Hall Management Committee that the building’s gutters were found to be clogged with pigeon droppings, feathers and dead birds.
