Acknowledgement of Country

A 'Statement of Acknowledgement' is to be read out at the commencement of all Council and Committee Meetings and workshops held within the Wakefield Regional Council area.

The 'Statement of Acknowledgment' should read as follows;

"We acknowledge and respect the traditional custodians whose ancestral lands we are meeting upon here today. We acknowledge the Kaurna, Ngadjuri and Narungga people as the traditional custodians of the Wakefield Regional Council. We acknowledge the deep feelings of attachment and relationship of Aboriginal peoples to Country. We also pay respects to the cultural authority of Aboriginal peoples visiting or attending from other areas of Australia present today."
