Recycling Oil, Metal & Drum Muster
Recycle Waste Oil Collection
Waste oil is a product that can be easily recycled. At present oil (in containers not larger than 20L) can be accepted at Hamley Bridge, Owen, Balaklava, Port Wakefield and Everard Transfer Stations. Cooking oil can also be accepted at no additional charge. Coolant and oily waste can be accepted at a small fee. It is the depositor's responsibility to empty their drums into the oil recovery containers provided.
The Waste Oil Recovery Units and Recycling Sheds were provided by a Product Stewardship for Oil Programme Grant from the Australian Government, Department of Environment and Water Resources.
For businesses both in towns and in the rural areas (including farmers), oil can be collected on site by oil removal companies. These companies will come on site to collect quantities greater than 600 litres. Oil should be stored in 200 litre drums that are kept under cover to avoid contamination by rainfall and dirt. When in excess of 600 litres has been collected, ring one of the companies below with details of the location of your business and they will collect the waste oil on their next run through your area. Used oil filters, coolant, oily rags, waste grease and cooking oil can also be removed. Please contact one of the following companies for further information.
